Front Flange Hydraulic Cylinder Introduction
Front flange hydraulic cylinder used where the shortest possible column length is required and a front mounting plate is available. Good push and pull characteristics but care must be taken to ensure correct alignment of piston rod to workload centreline. Flange profile can be square, rectangular, round or even an irregular shape if required.
Classification of flange mounting
Flange mount hydraulic cylinders are used to fix the hydraulic cylinders on the machine with flanges. It can be divided into the following three forms.
1) The flange cover is arranged on the cylinder head on the side of the piston rod, and its outer side is tightly attached to the mounting surface of the external component, and the figure is tightened with screws. This type of installation is due to the reaction force when the hydraulic cylinder is working, and the installation bolt bears the tensile force of the liquid pressure, so the diameter of the installation bolt is penetrated and the strength calculation is required.
2) Front flange mount hydraulic cylinder. The flange cover is arranged on the cylinder head on the side of the piston rod, and its inner surface is tightly attached to the mounting surface of the external component. This type of installation is due to the fact that the mounting bolt is not stressed when the hydraulic cylinder is working, and is mainly supported by the mounting support surface, so the flange type has a small diameter and a compact structure. This type of installation is most widely used in fixed installation.
3) Rear flange mount hydraulic cylinder flange type. The flange is set at the bottom of the cylinder, and the outer side of the flange is tightly attached to the mounting surface of the external component and fastened with bolts. The connecting screw of the hydraulic cylinder of this type of installation has a small tensile force, but it affects the initial bending strength of the piston rod and breaks.
For flange-connected hydraulic cylinders, the fastening bolts share the bearing force and only play the role of connection. If the bolt is subjected to joint stress, fatigue damage will occur under the influence of the force, which is very dangerous. Therefore, when installing, try to use force to allow the flange connection plate to bear it to avoid direct force on the bolt.
